Here is an overview of the historical trolleybuses which were or are in service in Eberswalde:

The first trolleybus The first trolleybus in Eberswalde



The first trolleybus was a converted horse bus, which had been already built in 1869. The vehicle belonged the Compagnie de Traction par Trolley Automoteur. The trolleybus of 1901 drove only 3 months into Eberswalde. In other sources also 5 months are called. A trolleybus of this type does not exist unfortunately any longer in Eberswalde.

The trolleybus of the German type MPE I had a chassis from the MAN company, Nürnberg, superstructures came from the Schumann company, Werdau i.Sa., and the electrical equipment of the BBC company, Mannheim. This trolleybus type was in service from 1940 to 1957. A trolleybus of this type does not exist unfortunately any longer in Eberswalde.

The trolleybus of the German type KEO I (war unit trolleybus standard size 1) was a war vehicle construction on a MPE 1 chassis and was equipped with an electrical equipment of the German company Siemens-Schuckert-Werke (SSW). This trolleybus type was in service from 1941 to 1962. A trolleybus of this type does not exist unfortunately any longer in Eberswalde.

The trolleybus of the GDR type LOWA W 600 was produced from the company VEB Waggonbau Werdau. The trolleybus was predominantly equipped with an electrical equipment of the GDR company LEW. A trolleybus of this type does not exist unfortunately any longer in Eberswalde.

A trolleybus of this type with trailer is in the care of the Berlin Historic Transport Preservation Society (DVN) Trolleybus group. At this time the vehicle is under reconstruction.

A trolleybus of this type is in the care of the Berlin Historic Transport Preservation Society (DVN) Trolleybus group. The trolleybus is parked at the depot Eberswalde/Poratzstraße of the BBG Ltd. The reconstruction of the Czech type ŠKODA 9 Tr trolleybus was completed on 18 December 1999.

The trolleybus of the Czech type ŠKODA 14 Tr was produced from the company ŠKODA Ostrov and the electrical equipment was also from the same company. A trolleybus of this type is in the care of the Berlin Historic Transport Preservation Society (DVN) Trolleybus group. The trolleybus is parked at the depot Eberswalde/Poratzstraße of the BBG Ltd. The trolleybus is ready for action and the status of the trolleybus is very good. It will be used for special travel.

KG Düsseldorf/FRG. A trolleybus of this type does not exist unfortunately any longer in Eberswalde.

The Barnimer Bus company supports the Berlin Historic Transport Preservation Society (DVN) Trolleybus group. The Berlin Historic Transport Preservation Society -DVN- Trolleybus group may use the old repair station at the Nordend depot in Eberswalde, Poratzstraße for their work and may also park their old historical trolleybuses there.

At the Nordend depot of the Barnimer Bus Company Ltd. the Berlin Historic Transport Preservation Society (DVN) Trolleybus group has three historical trolleybus types in their care, which were not in use in Eberswalde. They are the following types:

Trolleybus of the German type SSW-DB 45/47 Trolleybus of the German type SSW-DB 45/47
Producer: Daimler-Benz/Schumann/SSW (AEG-engine)
The vehicle was used in Berlin Steglitz 1949-1965, with the car number 1224. The vehicle is the oldest roadworthy trolleybus of Germany. The picture shows the trolleybus of the SSW-DB 45/47 in Eberswalde at the bus stop Schöpfurther Straße going in direction to Karl-Marx- Platz on the occasion of a special travel.
The trolleybus belongs to the German Technical Museum in Berlin (Deutsches Technikmuseum Berlin).

The vehicle was used in Berlin Steglitz 1957-1965, with the car number 488. The picture shows the trolleybus entering the Nordend depot in Eberswalde.
The trolleybus belongs to the German Technical Museum in Berlin (Deutsches Technikmuseum Berlin).

The trolleybus belongs to the Berlin Historic Transport Preservation Society (DVN) Trolleybus group.
