2. Trolleybus operations

On behalf of the Barnim district and the Märkisch-Oderland district the Barnimer Busgesellschaft mbH in 16225 Eberswalde Poratzstraße 68 operates local public transport in the Barnim district, including the city of Eberswalde, and also partly in the Märkisch-Oderland district. The Barnimer Busgesellschaft mbH uses numerous private bus companies as subcontractors to fulfill these tasks.

The urban public transport of the town Eberswalde operates with 2 trolleybus lines (lines  861  and  862 ) and 5 diesel-powered bus lines (lines 863, 864, 865, 866 and 914).

Furthermore various lines of the regional traffic operates through the city Eberswalde. The quarter of Südend is served by lines 910 and 923, the quarters of Sommerfelde and Tornow by lines 883 and 916, the quarter of Spechthausen by lines 919 and 913 and the quarter of Finow by line 910.

Line 910 is to be established as the 3rd trolleybus line. Currently two articulated trolleybuses of the Polish type Solaris Trollino 18 Kiepe IMC operate on line 910 with overhead line or battery power. Both articulated trolleybuses are equipped with reinforced batteries. However the main load is still provided by diesel-powered buses.
